I’m completely and utterly wrapped up in the fourth book of the vampire chronicles at the moment. I began reading them a long time ago, just got into this fourth one and got swept off somewhere else leaving little time for reading. Working full time and the morning train trip has given me a chance to get into them again. The Tale Of The Body Thief (which is what I happen to be smitten with) is an entirely different approach to Anne’s chronicle characters I believe. I couldn’t quite get into it at first but now I’m almost regretfully at the end. Many more to come however
I’ve always had an interest in anything out of the ordinary. Vampires fascinate me. No, I’m not one of those “I believe in vampires” spokes-goths, I’m just intrigued by the myth/legend, whatever you want to call it. The whole theatrical side of it probably has a lot to do with it and many thanks of course go to Anne Rice for creating such a romantic and wretched depth in these nocturnal villains.
But I often wonder where my fascination with the occult comes from. I’m always the one cheering the bad guy along in the theatre. Yet I don’t advocate violence in reality. If anything I’m an extreme pacifist. However, in some aspects, I believe its explanation of natural law is more precise (in an easy to accept and understand manner) than what we’ve been taught and the fact that it challenges and ever expands the horizons we stay fixed within appeals to me more so than the rigid outlines we already have in place.
The simple fact is, I like pushing the boundaries, but in this world, that isn’t always as easy as you want it to be. The fantasy of a world with no boundaries is easy to reach whenever you want to, thus the love of anything not quite normal. But then again, what is normal anyway?

I really have to get back into writing in this thing on a daily basis. It’s been so hard to find even a minute of time to do so. The new job is going great. I work with an amazing bunch of people. So my day’s have been a little full. Ok make that a lot. I thought I might do a kind of photo journal of a typical day on Tuesday, just for something different and for a small glimpse into just how full my day is
I get home at 5:30pm, feed Simba, get changed, go to the gym. I’m there for up to two hours depending on whether I’m doing classes or not. Get home again at around 8, give or take the annoyance of evening traffic. Have to then put on dinner and tidy up a bit, wash clothes, have a shower. Eat at about 8:30 - 9 , get in a few moments with my boy then I’m so tired I go off to read in bed then fall asleep.
So I’m desperately trying to squeeze in some internet time there but failing badly hehe. This long weekend has given me a change for some free time though and perhaps it will get easier over time.
I’m making an effort at least
I’ll be updating and elaborating tonight. Hope everyone is well. Going to check out what you all have been up to today too.

I went for an interview today, waited nervously, watched 4 episodes of Buffy, paced the loungeroom and then finally the phone rang. I got the job!
It’s a great company in a similar position I was doing at Yellow pages, so I’m pretty familiar with what goes on and It’s not far from here at all. We just haven’t been able to make ends meet lately so I decided I’d have to send out the resume to find something to get us back into the comfortable zone again. It feels great to have a certain sense of independence back again also.
I’m still studying at the same time. Actually that was one of my dilemmas after getting over the excitement of it all. How the hell am I going to fit everything in to a day now? Gym, full time study, full time work. It’s going to be interesting to say the least.. but I’m sure people face much more than I’m facing so if they can organise themselves then so can I!
I start tomorrow, only a half day though, to get acquainted. I have to do some serious shopping in the morning for some new clothes too. My wardrobe is full of casual and sports gear. Very happy right now
