Getting anywhere but here

May 21st, 2004

‘Completely bored here. I’ve been waiting all week for Friday and now it’s here I’m totally at a loss for stuff to do. Wait, not completely true. I do indeed have things to do, but I don’t want to do any of them! Getting nowhere.

On the subject of getting nowhere. When working with weights at the gym. Using the pink ones, pretending that they’re really heavy, straining whilst doing bicep curls with the pink weights at 10 reps per second… is going to get you nowhere ..fast.

I’m over saying anything to them. I just try to block it out or it frustrates me to no end. Why pay huge gym fees to go and waste your time for half an hour? If you own pink weights, kill them before they multiply. I promise, they will do nothing for you.

Actually I’m quite happy doing nothing.

I really want to talk about stuff going on at work, then on the other hand I don’t. What if the talked about party actually stumbles across this site one day .. All hell will indeed cometh down on me.

Anyway.. not talking about it.
I stood in line at the medicare office for 20 minutes today, that was riveting. Why do people choose my lunch hour to do stuff that takes 10 minutes to process?

Update on the weight loss, which I really haven’t mentioned in a while. My total is 33.8kg (74.4lbs) lost in just under 7 months, which I’m still trying to comprehend and my body fat percentage is down to 39%, which is the best bit ) After my personal training session last night M told me that I was fitter than she was now.

I have so much to say on that subject, It may even deserve It’s own site/section/something. Maybe..

Success

May 14th, 2004

‘The mysterious unknown song has been discovered. My dad, being the wise resourceful chap he is, emailed me with the details. The song is called Trigger and it is written and performed by an Australian singer/songwriter, Sandrine. Her website is over there, but you only get to hear 30 seconds of the audio. I’d post a link to stream it but I’m far too lazy. Going to head out and buy the album tomorrow anyway because I love this girl’s voice so much. Definitely powerful.

I’m so glad It’s Friday night! Friday night is the best part of the entire weekend. You know you have two more days of freedom. I think Saturday night/Sunday morning is the worst. This time you know time is running out, Monday is doomed to arrive and you can’t do a damn thing about it.
So I’m all Friday night happy like ) )

My best friend is in Vietnam at the moment. Currently in Hoi An. She emailed me letting me know all about her adventures. Was so good to hear from her. Wish I could have gone with her actually, would be a blast. We’ve made plans for a trip to the US, which will probably eventuate sometime next year if all goes well and I can’t wait for that one )

Forcing sleepiness away! My eyes were asleep half an hour ago but my mind is like an excited puppy turning around and around in circles.. I have no idea where that analogy came from. Puppy, spinningness… stuff.

The sims is looking appealing right now. Speaking of, where the hell is 2? Taking their time they are.

The unknown song

May 12th, 2004

I had my busiest day at work thus far. The girl I work with and am still learning from, wasn’t in today so I had to get out some pretty high on the importance scale stuff. The bonus to being busy? The day zooms on by and it was time to go before I had a chance to glance at the clock.

I’m actually ready to drop. I also did a double class at the gym, pump and combat..I could feel my energy levels start to dwindle half way through the second hour. So now I’ve just started to get the feeling back in my fingers after driving home sans gloves. Who has driving gloves anyway? Does anyone specifically go out with intentions on buying gloves just for wearing when operating a car? Anyway, fingers thawed and I’m going to follow my cat’s lead and go to bed soon.

On a side note, why is there so much crap on TV? Why do the networks take off award winning Australian dramas to put on stupid reality shows. Nope, not talking about Big Brother here. I like that one, probably one of the only. But they bring on that Miriam show last night and I felt instantaneous nausea.

Peter thinks It’s funny that I get so frustrated at the TV.
Before I forget. I’m going to ask a favour of anyone that is reading this. I watch this music clip at the gym all the time but I have no idea who this girl is. I only know this one song. So I’m putting a bit of the lyrics here and if anyone knows what it is.. Please please email me or comment so I can get it out of my head hehe.

If I was to show you, I needed a gun
As far as I see it, I’m already done for
And my fingers on the trigger, and I’m thinking of you
And I’m thinking of you, yes I’m thinking of you
with my finger on the trigger, and I’m thinking of you
yes I’m thinking of you till I’m done

If not, you know I’m going to have to embarrass myself by singing it to the HMV guys so they can figure what the hell I’m talking about..

Going Unnoticed

May 8th, 2004

It was almost 5 on a Friday. Two older ladies made their way to the waiting train on platform 2. They were having a conversation about the weather, just a simple interaction, nothing that they would remember the next day. But it seemed they had only just stepped on the train when they came running out of the carriage screaming wildly. What they had found on the train was a man, slouched over against the wall of the upper level carriage. Dead for quite some time.

Nobody had noticed he had even died. People just assumed he was another bum. Drank too much, fell asleep on the train. If it hadn’t been for the humanity and concern of these ladies, god knows how long he would have stayed there.

The aspect of all this that is shocking is, even after people were aware the man was indeed dead, they still continued to get on the train. They avoided the lower level where the man lay, but had no problem going to the top level, taking a seat and waiting for the train to leave. That train isn’t going anywhere! What disrespect. This was somebody’s son, maybe somebodys father and people were almost stepping over the man to get home on time. Sometimes the lack of depth in people sickens me.

New Socksies

May 2nd, 2004

I’m fascinated by my new toe socks. You know the ones, like gloves, for your feet. For some reason they remind me of Big Bird’s legs. Peter just laughs at them…
I’d wear them to work if I could.

Big Brother started tonight. You can tell who’s going to be starting trouble already. Just a matter of time really. I think the site, however, has died a horrible death. I’ve been trying to get on to catch some of the live stream before bed but I just get this

[DBNETLIB][ConnectionOpen (Connect()).]SQL Server does not exist or access denied.

Denied (
I think I’ll just go to bed then. With my new fancy toe socks.

Lazy Start

May 1st, 2004

I’m having such a lazy weekend. I got out of bed at an annoyingly early hour (thanks to the new work hours) and have been pottering around the computer, staring out the window aimlessly and listening to music.

It’s a perfect day today. Soft autumn breeze, warm, scattered clouds. I should really be outside but no, here I am inside, with frozen fingertips, trying to keep warm because the house is still morgue like from last nights drop in temperature.

I’m actually trying to decide what to do today. Must shop at some point. I’m having one of those weeks where you stumble across bargains you will just never find again. The must have, 90 percent off marked price types. Bliss )
