I’ve started 2007 with a massive headache. It came around about the same time I was eating breakfast this morning and half watching the Tyra Banks show. I think that may be the reason. There’s something not quite right about Tyra and even though she tries desperately to piece together her show with the leftovers of Oprah and a little bit of Dr Phil thrown in there, she just doesn’t quite pull it off.. Yet in all my complaining I managed to sit there transfixed watching some “Sisterhood” revelation way beyond the completion of my bowl of oaties. I now feel even less educated.
It’s a rainy wintery day here in the middle of Summer. Not so typical for this time of year. This bipolar planet needs some desperate attention. So I’m sitting here at my desk in full winter gear waiting for the codeine to kick in.
I’ve started my studying already, dutifully keeping up with my responsibilities (so far) I’m a perfectionist and procrastinator, two elements of me that have caused a lot of starting and not finishing in my life. They have their benefits sure but when there’s more fuss in the detail and deliverance than the actual substance, I start to be taken less seriously, even by myself and that creates a final product which is either not finished or not worth finishing.
I intend to break that habit at some point, when I get around to it ;)

Happy New Year
We rang it in with dinner out then a quiet night of watching 10’s craptacular coverage of the Sydney fireworks. Oh and cheesecake and baileys, a delightful combination. I’d also like to inform channel 10 that having the “The Gold Coast Girls” shake their bits in my face in their pathetic “Call me” ads inbetween the festivites was rather nauseating. I feel sorry for all the families that had their kiddies up with them watching the coverage last night. Good old family entertainment.
So usually I make a whole bunch of new year resolutions and pretend I’ll keep them, only to forget I ever made them, so this year, I’ll save myself the trouble and just not make them at all. Brilliant! 2006 has been both good and bad to me. I’ve learned a lot, but I know there is still so much I need to work on, not on the outside but on the inside. I need to make time for me this year, work on my writing, my art, my music, let the creative me out to play completely. Take time to listen and respect my callings. There’s tons to work on. But it’s not a resolution! Hehe, just musings.
I hope everyone had a good NYE and that 2007 is good to you.
