Idol and Exercise

August 29th, 2007

It’s Idol time again so don’t be surprised at the additional reality tv banter, I am a self confessed addict after all. I’m loving the fact that none of this years contenders (bar one or two that slipped through) have that “every single pop voice you hear on the radio” type of thing going on. Looove it. So my favs so far are Mark Da Costa, Jacob Butler and Tarisai. Two of them are already in the top and I’m keeping my fingers crossed for Mark. That boy can sing. I tried every which way I know possible to embed this video but nope, the big wigs have decided that nobody can play their videos outside their own site, so whatever. Here’s the link to watch Mark’s performance. Mark Da Costa - Whole Lotta Love.

Maybe I just like that song way too much.

Moving on, this week marks the arrival of my new home gym equipment D See I’m not particularly fond of gyms. I used to go to one 5 days a week but now I seem to have moved to a place where the gyms are about the size of my garage and don’t offer much of anything. That makes things even worse. So I made the rather difficult decision to part with quite a large sum of money and set myself up a gym at home. Top of the line York treadmill, elliptical and bike plus free weights etc. I’m just waiting for delivery now. They need to hurry up..

The Puppet Master

August 24th, 2007

Elijah Wood on Yo Gabba Gabba. I have never heard of this show, it’s kinda disturbing hehe.

I’ve been singing it all morning.

I like how Elijah pronounces his name. The rest of it however..Good god, Hobbits and Space furs and …just look. :\

Myspace Is Not

August 23rd, 2007

How did Myspace become a household name? Myspace reminds me of when I first booted up my trusty 133mhz, stumbled upon Geocities and decided to make a webpage all about me and the shit that I like. Which is pretty much what Shadowmuse is, but without the eyebleeding properties. My Geocities site looked something like this

please. god. no.

Imagine a bunch of flashing gifs and blood dripping bars and email links that said please harvest my email address and send me crap. Everybody had one. You know you did. And you loved that site like it was your own child and every day you visited that page just to see if your neon green, half-a-page counter had gone up. If it was more than yesterday, you told everyone.

I recently discovered one of my first websites on the Wayback machine. Let’s just say it was both a comical and painful experience.

So anyway, Myspace anyone? This is what Myspace reminds me of. It’s horrible. It’s badly constructed, it allows you to decimate your page with whatever horrible animated background and clashing colours you wish it to have. Myspace makes me cry.

I just needed to get that out there, you know, spread the Myspace hate or somethin.

Well besides feeling such evil intent towards a certain website, I have been perusing through the pages of my disorganised life and trying to reassemble it into something more appeasing to the eye. Ever jump on the net in the morning only to find that the sun has gone down again and you’re sitting in the dark wondering where the last 9 hours went? That’s where I was at. And when you spend your entire day online, eventually your entire offline life needs urgent attending to. Things that you should have done 6 weeks ago are suddenly backed up in a pile and 65 things need doing before 4pm that afternoon.

I am pleased to say however, that the backlog is now looking unlogged and everything is up to date. I can once again return to my regular 9 hour online schedule. (Which may or may not be an exaggeration at any given time)

Over the next few days I’m going to catch up with a lot of reading and once again sort through all the sadness that is broken, dead or now non-existent favourite bloggers. (Dead as in website dead, not person!.. gah)
