The Internet is killing me with its slowness today
And it’s hot, and waiting while a 8 megabit line crawls to a slug pace opening a single page, in the heat, is a joyless event.
I’m going through a bit of social deprivation at the moment. I don’t know where all my online friends have gone to, nobody is ever on messenger anymore. I miss us. I miss the gaming we did together, I miss being an idiot and having people laugh at my idiocy. I miss hanging out with people that knew me, were like me and loved me for it! Arghh! Where are you all?!
I even went searching for groups in my town, community type stuff because I’ve lived here for a year now and I don’t know anyone. Nice.. So I was searching for RP groups, LARP especially because I miss it to bits and maybe some pagan peoples to meet with, have a drink or seven and talk, but NO. I doubt there’s anyone in this town that even knows what LARP is, let alone does it. We do have a medieval society but you have to be invited by two members or some such silliness. I understand the culling of the stupid but wow is it hard to get noticed in this place.

Maaaan, as soon as I update my wordpress, another version comes out urging me to upgrade immediately. Upgrading is a pain in the ass. I used to like it, being the little techy geeky girl I am but now it’s just rigmarole. I’m over the upgrading already!
Right so, Hi! I hope all you gorgeous people had a nice Christmas and new year and all that. I for one am thanking god it’s over. I wanted Christmas to hurry up and now I am loving this January 2008 stuff. I’ll give you a run down on my Christmas anyway. Lot’s of relatives, food, drink, sitting around talking about food and drink, opening presents, looking surprised because you already knew what they were, you’ve had them on your wishlist for 17 years then eating turkey and pork and ham and all other farmyard animals and vegetables until the cows come home, literally. I live across from a bunch of cows and I am not talking about the girls across the street.. in this case.
So Christmas was fairly straight forward, it was nice and New Years was quiet. A bunch of us just hung out listening to music, chatting and waiting for the big 12 to happen. It did, I just like to note, happen and I waited for the flailing of arms and cheering and screaming and blowing of horns n such to emit from down the street and yet it never happened. It was black as hell and I swear to god I could hear people snoring. What the feck is that about? So I flailed a little and made my own rejoicing and then we drove home.
New Year celebrations were followed with some RPGs and a good slaughtering was accomplished.
Now I have poured myself a large glass of water because the air in this house is so wet you could swim through it and have unsurprisingly left it on the coffee table in the loungeroom. If I only I could teach my cat to fetch a glass, I’d be all set.
Hope everyone had a good one and the one to come is even better.
