Holidays blurring at the edges

March 2nd, 2008

I feel crap today. There’s no other way to put it. I woke up with an upset tummy and it has progressed to all sorts of weird things. One of them consisted of a sneezing parade that lasted out at least 17 sneezes and another has been the most horrid back pain. Stupid flawed humans.

I went to Coles earlier to grab some food as I was out of bread and all the essentials needed for when you can’t be buggered cooking and got upset at the Easter eggs. I think it had something to do with the woman in front of me talking to her companion.

“Oohh, do you wanna get some of those chocolate bunnies?”
“What for?”
“Duh.. to eat”
“But it’s not Easter?”
“So, I’ve already had three of those and half a bag of eggs in the past month”

What is the point? I don’t know whether to be angry at people or angry at big business for stocking their shelves with them two days after Christmas. But surely things become meaningless if come Easter you have already shoved half a kilo of chocolate down your face? It makes me irate. I’m a very traditional person, with values and morals, something which is probably rare amongst the next gen, and oh hasn’t that proven itself to me lately, but I believe in holding on to sentimentality and tradition. I believe that something worked at or something you have poured your heart into is so much more important than something you gained through someone else’s subliminal persuasion and a blind need to feel acceptance.

Thank god we still have a choice.

Studying the sims

March 1st, 2008

I’ve been in a studying frenzy over the past week, just started up again for the year so there is a lot of things to take care of. Well that and indulging in the new Sims 2 expansion “Free Time” I HAD a custom content download folder of over 6gb. I’ve now been able to get it down to around 2.8gb which I’m sorry to say, is the best I can do heh D I don’t know what it is with the Sims but thank you EAxis for spawning your evil all over my computer, without you, I don’t know what I’d do.

Oh wait yes I do. Study, cleaning the house, paying my bills, sleeping.

I haven’t really got too far in it yet as my great download folder culling came from the game crashing about 5 minutes into playing a lot but I’ll post some piccies once I get it up and running at a non-stop pace. If I ever log out… :\
