If you’ve come over this way you probably want to know a little about who lives here. That would be me. I’m Alina and I currently exist in Northern NSW in Australia.

I love all things fantastical and have troubles trying to keep my feet on the ground and my head out of the clouds. Creativity is abundant in everything I do although marred with a penchant for self criticism. I’m a perfectionist, which has its good and bad sides.

Movies and theater give me that escapism I crave. I like to believe that things exist beyond what we can see and what we are taught. Imagination is vital. I’m not really attached to any particular genre. I like anything that makes me laugh, cry or scares the living hell out of me. I like intelligent humour and weird things that make other people think I’m clinically insane.

Reading and writing provoke creation in me also. I’ve written a number of 1st draft novels. All of which I need to edit and publish; part of that familiar procrastination theme I just love to marinade in. I prefer fantasy novels or gothic epic tales. I like David Eddings, Robert Jorden and a little known Australian writer by the name of Alison Croggon, who is brilliant in so many respects.

Musically, I’m open to anything that appeals to me. I don’t automatically hate something because it’s in a genre that may not be considered top of this seasons “In List”. I do love to sing and have been doing it privately and publicly since I was a youngin’.

I’m really quite shy, always have been. I don’t tend to come out of my shell until a few meetings. After that I relax into conversation and you can’t shut me up. Whether it’s a case of wanting to feel the environment out first or just not knowing what to say for fear of wedging a foot in my mouth, it’s something that’s held me back for a long time. I’m trying to come out of it but the lone wolf keeps pulling me back in. I’m fun and super friendly to be around should you know me but real friendships for me take time and I guess a lot of people aren’t willing to invest that sort of time. If you are however, it’s something that will last a lifetime.

I’m a dedicated gamer girl, (as is my husband - but not the girl part) we never get anything done. RPG and MMOs for the most part. I’m fascinated with their stories and characters and it’s easy to get immersed in such lush environments. I’ve played a bit of everything since the inception of the gamepad. I still have a NES and a heap of old games which I’ve played the death out of and my weapons of choice these days are PS2 and PC. (I refuse to like xbox or anything xbox related and will go out of my way to avoid large propaganda filled department stores full of the dreaded things)
